Over the years St. Eds has produced a number of the countries most high profile athletes. two years ago OL Alex Boone signed with Ohio State. Last year the Pitt Panthers landed a dandy in Joe Thomas. This year there are a number of high profile players that will make an impact on the division one level. There are also a few phenomenal juniors to keep our eyes on.

Ranked eighth nationally at the start of the season by The USA Today, St. Edward faced a determined Benedictine Bengal team to open their much-anticipated campaign. Ohio State commitment Nate Oliver scored on a 10-yard run early in the game to assist in the Eagles eventual victory, 24-7. Here's how some of that week-one action looked in pictures.

Frank Edmonds out of St. Ed's high in Lakewood, Ohio, is going to be a prospect to watch in 2006. Edmonds isn't a two or three-year varsity starter but he did play every game at running back last year and gained 2,134 yards and 23 touchdowns. A few MAC schools have offered a scholarship and Edmonds gives us his list of early favorites.

Frank Edmonds may be Ohio's best pure rusher, in a running back class that is beginning to look extremely deep with talent. Edmonds uses a combination of skills to pound out yardage against one of the most competitive schedules in the high school ranks.
