With the recent success stories of former Arizona Wildcat linebackers in the National Football League the U of A is becoming kind of the new ‘Linebacker U'. Tedy Bruschi, Antonio Pierce and Lance Briggs have all made the Pro Bowl and all are among the league's best year in and year out. The Wildcats look to continue sending backers to the league after signing two cousins for the position.

One of the biggest commitments of the class of 2007 for the Arizona Wildcats was that of our star DE/OLB Apai Tuihalamaka from Gardena (CA) Serra High School. Scott Schrader from our sister site at WeAreSc.com caught up with Apai to get his thoughts.

The Arizona Wildcat coaching staff landed two four star linebackers in the same 12 hour span when the Tuihalamaka cousins committed to the Cats. After committing to two schools during the recruiting process, Apai Tuihalamaka has pulled the trigger for the last time.

Since Mike Stoops was hired as the head coach of the Arizona Football program there has been a concerted effort to rebuild the Polynesian pipeline that it used to have. At the center of the rebuilding efforts has been Defensive Tackles coach Mike Tuiasosopo and in three years the pipeline is now back at Arizona and is only getting stronger.

Last week we noticed defensive end Apaiata Tuihalamaka, 6-4, 215, 4.55, Gardena (Calif.) Junipero Serra HS, was making some very strong indications on his myspace.com page that he was going to become an Oregon Duck. So we messaged him to find out what was going on.

Colorado has now landed its second four star commitment of this recruiting class as Gardena Serra star linebacker Apaiata Tuihalamaka committed to CU over the weekend. However, it is not a completely done deal as he still has two, maybe three visits left on the agenda. Inside, we have an in-depth interview with the star linebacker.

A lot people look at their senior year as "the year". The year to rule the halls of school. How about returning as one of the most feared pass rushers in all of California only to break your leg and lose your final year of high school football. The injury may have hurt the body, but it didn't kill the spirit of this pass rushing demon.
