Tipoff for the WNBA's All-Star game is set for 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Several alumni of the Big East Conference will be participating as players from Rutgers University and Connecticut will take the court. The game may be seen in its entirety on ESPN.

Former Rutgers women's basketball standout and current Phoenix Mercury rookie Cappie Pondexter (Chicago, IL) has been chosen as one of six Western Conference reserves for the 2006 WNBA All-Star Game Wednesday, July 12, at 7:00 p.m. The game, which will be conducted at New York's Madison Square Garden, and will be shown on ESPN.

The Rutgers women's basketball team (25-4, 16-0), winners of the Big East regular season championship, has received a date with 14th-seeded Dartmouth (23-6, 14-2) in the first round. The #3-seeded Scarlet Knights will face off against the Ivy League squad on Sunday, March 19, in Trenton, NJ, with tipoff set for 7PM EST.

By the time late Sunday afternoon rolled around it became rather evident that Scarlet Knight fans would wake up the following morning with a joyous smile hovering about their faces. The women handled Villanova and the men won at the arena formerly named Alumni Hall. Both squads will be in action over the next three days, with the women playing Monday at 6:00 p.m. and the men scheduled for Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. against intrastate rival Seton Hall.
