Ohio State confirmed to BuckeyeSports.com this morning that sophomore cornerback James Scott is not one of the 105 players who are taking part in the football team's preseason fall camp. No reason has been given for Scott's absence, but the possibility remains he could rejoin the team at a later date.

The 2007 Ohio State recruiting class will end up being in the top 20. Only signing 15 players will keep this class from being ranked higher. The average star rating indicates this is a very good class. Is it a home run? Probably not, but it's a ringing double off the wall. In the end this class will be known for speed and athleticism. This is an area the Ohio State wanted to improve.

Daytona Beach will be sending one of their own to be a Buckeye when Seabreeze Senior High's James Scott signs with Ohio State on Wednesday. Scott is one of the highest rated players in the 2007 Ohio state recruiting class. Scott chose Ohio State over his native state Florida Gators. Bill Greene has more on this exciting player.

James Scott has stunned the recruiting world by issuing a commitment to the Ohio State Buckeyes when many people considered him a lock for the Florida Gators. Scott, who is the Buckeyes' 13th known commitment, checks in as one of the most highly touted members of the class.
