Summer unofficial football practices are well underway on The Farm, with the breadth of the returning roster on campus for daily workouts. Also in attendance are a surprising number of freshmen - a dozen so far by our count. Some are in summer school, while others are visiting for stints. 19 Faxes Hit The Farm

If they had their choice, many of today's 19 Stanford signees would have inked their National Letter of Intent long ago. Today marked the first day of the signing period. Specifically, a recruit could sign and fax his LOI at 7am local time, which meant the Stanford Football fax machines saw action at 4am when East Coast commits started. Who was first? When did Johnathon Frink's fax come through?

Halamandaris Is Howling After Visit

Last weekend marked the first official visit hosted by new Stanford head coach Jim Harbaugh. The man who told us that he will attack his job with "an enthusiasm unknown to mankind" predictably brought an infectious energy to the recruiting weekend. Moorpark (Calif.) offensive tackle George Halamandaris committed to Stanford's previous regime but is beaming after 48 hours with Harbaugh on The Farm.
