CORVALLIS -- With 14 practices in the books, spring ball has nearly come to a close for the 2009 calendar year. The highlight of the session, the annual spring game, however, is yet to come. One of a coach's worst fears going through spring practice is injuries and the Oregon State offensive line was hit hard. From knees to chests to shoulders it seemed like the players couldn't catch a break. Coach Mike Cavanaugh and his buffet busters trudged on though, but many of the questions at the start of the month still remain unanswered.

CORVALLIS--The centers got in some extra work, tight ends drilled hard at two of the position's responsibilities, Una Smiley is XXL and Stephen Paea is turning heads. Lyle Moevao? On target again in drills Friday, while true frosh Ryan Katz continued to throw the nicest deep ball. TT was pushing 'em all over the place plus an update on replacing the best kicker to ever take the field at OSU.

SUCCESSFUL RECRUITING at Oregon State means having the ability to project, to identify a "skinny" offensive lineman with the frame, quick feet and skills that will serve the team well down the road. And, of course, you have to land that recruit. OSU did that last year with Rory Ross. And having grayshirted this season, he'll arrive looking a whole lot different than he did at this time last year.
