WTS: Beavs victorious in defensive struggle

FOR BEAVER FANS it was both frustrating and refreshing. The offense struggled, but the defense was back to its old form. In the end it didn't matter as Beaver Nation agreed - a win is a win. Pittsburgh fans on the other hand are wondering where their offense went. THE UNSUNG: Sammie delivers

IN A DEFENSIVELY dominated game like the 75th Sun Bowl, where the Beavs knocked off No. 18 Pitt by the smallish score of 3-0, the limelight will shine brightest on the Oregon State defense -- and well it should. W/ Moevao, OSU to again test early airwaves?

JACQUIZZ RODGERS WON'T play in the Civil War, his shoulder sprain and future health won't allow it, but that probably doesn't mean the Beavs are going to change a whole lot on offense. And it won't be a surprise if they stick with the opening formula either. With the Pac-10's leading rusher in the backfield, the Beavs over 11 games have pretty much come out of the gate the same -- throwing it.

Beaver blocks were poetry in win over Cal

IN THE END, Jacquizz and James Rodgers starred in yards, as they have all season. And while the Beaver D had more missed tackles than at any time this season, those deficiencies were more than counterbalanced by a run-stuffing, sack-happy stop corps. But what shouldn't be lost in the shuffle is how the Beavs -- particularly the receivers and tight ends -- blocked. One play in particular stood out.
