Every year, there are deserving players who do not make top 60 prospect rankings. These San Diego Padres prospects fit that bill. While these 46 prospects did not make our list, it does not diminish their talent level or ability. There will be plenty on this list that help the big league club in some capacity.

Padres Prospect Report: June 23, 2009

Brian Lawrence gives up 10 hits in a Portland loss. San Antonio clinched the first half division title. The All-Stars were on display in Lake Elsinore and for Fort Wayne. Bo Davis has a solid debut and Chris Fetter takes the hill in an Emeralds loss. Jon Berger takes the loss in the desert, as the AZL Padres get shutout again. Juan Herrera pitches a gem in the DSL but the squad loses.

Matt Buschmann is rocked for seven runs in a thrashing. Mat Latos takes his first loss of the season despite a career-high. Cory Luebke fans 11 but ends with a no-decision. Nick Schmidt is dynamite again but Eric Gonzalez sees it all go away. Luis Domoromo goes yard in a DSL Padres loss.

Rolando Valdez lasts just one inning in a shutout loss with Triple-A Portland. A four-run innings is enough support for Stephen Faris. Logan Forsythe goes yard and Luis Martinez extends his on base streak to 27. Matt Clark clubs a pair while Anthony Bass is superb again. Jean Corpas picks up another win for the DSL Padres while Manuel Nuno paces the offense with four RBI.

Walter Silva is pounded to the tune of 12 hits and seven runs while Matt Antonelli hits his first homer of the year. Nathan Culp takes loss number five while the red-hot Mike Baxter keeps it up. Jeremy McBryde has been consistent as can be while Yefri Carvajal drives in three. Matt Clark pounds out a pair of homers and Drew Cumberland adds three more hits to his ledger.

Gabe DeHoyos walks in the winning run in the 11th inning – the first run he has allowed all year. Cedric Hunter has struggled mightily of late while Rolando Valdez appears for the first time this year. Lance Zawadzki and Andy Parrino continue to roll while Jeremy Hefner is solid. Sawyer Carroll is the man to have up with RISP.
