Few trades in recent Phillies history created such a firestorm as last July's six player deal featuring former Phil great Bobby Abreu and pitcher Cory Lidle for four unknown minor league prospects. Although the deal was done as much to rid the Phils of a salary albatross as to rebuild a minor league farm system it is clear that all four of these players will be scrutinized...under the microscope.

The New York Yankees acquired All-Star right fielder Bobby Abreu and starting pitcher Cory Lidle from the Philadelphia Phillies on Sunday for C.J. Henry, Matt Smith, Jesus Sanchez, and Carlos Monasterios. While the trade instantly helps the Yankees for 2006, the Yankees did trade away some talent that could provide some depth for Philadelphia in the long run.
