Offensive rebounds doom the Beavs

THE BEAVS JUST couldn't quite get past Washington in the end. The Pac-12's top two scoring teams didn't put on a strong shooting performance on Sunday. Washington shot 35 percent from the floor and Oregon State was at 41 percent. Terrence Ross had 21 points and 13 rebounds on Sunday to lead Washington to a 75-72 win over Oregon State.

HOOPS: Moreland lights Civil War candle

HIS NAME DOESN'T jump off the stat page for points scored. That's reserved for players like Jared Cunningham, who scored 24 of his 27 points against Oregon in the second half of the Beavs' 76-71 win in Eugene. But Eric Moreland was the guy that made it all possible.

That's no longer the case after the Beavs' 78-59 win.

And OSU's defensive success translated to confidence on the offensive end -- the Beavs nailed their first six, yes six, three-point attempts. But OSU lost their way in the second half, and the result was a 59-52 loss.

Beavs put scare into Cal but fall short

IF OREGON STATE could consistently put together a full game out on the hardcourt, then you might really have something here. At Cal on Saturday, with the Bears a 16-point favorite and sitting atop the conference standings, it was all about the Beaver defense. But a key second half lapse led to another defeat in the loss column.

Forward Quickly Making a Name for Himself

For Jared Cunningham the AAU circuit is working exactly as it should. With each passing tournament, his exposure has grown as fast as the list of schools recruiting him. ASU is one school that is part of that trend, and when Devils Digest talked to the forward about the maroon and gold the interest definitely seem to be mutual in nature.
