Dixon with a "nice" debut

You don't even show up to campus until the day before you strap it on and get ready to practice fall camp. With that in mind, you wonder just how much you'll play. When Ty Steinkuhler went down, JUCO transfer DT Kevin Dixon found out real fast. And he now has an interception to his name. It doesn't matter what position you play on defense, that's not a bad debut.

Kevin Dixon meets the media

He arrived the day before it was time to strap on the pads and go to practice as Nebraska prepares for the 2007 season. Not the ideal way to go. But there's been nothing ideal about the route Kevin Dixon had to take. He looks back on it fondly, saying that it was good for him and even though it took awhile to get to Lincoln, he didn't have any regrets.

He's been ready, and he's got some news about just when he's going to arrive.

Dixon makes tough call, but follows heart

After an early commitment to South Florida in August, Kevin Dixon opened up the recruiting process and took some visits. The commitment to USF was a high hurdle for anyone to get over to get through to Dixon because of how close it was to home and the relationship he had with a coach. The only school to get an official from Dixon other than USF was Nebraska.

Huskers pick up big commit

The Huskers have nabbed their second defensive line commitment in the past 24 hours. The first was Chris Perry, a four star prep defensive lineman from Keller (Texas) Fossil Ridge. The second is the former team mate of a current Husker who is looking forward of two more years right along side his old and future team mate.

Dixon still considering options

Nebraska fans knew that going into this year that defensive line was a serious priority in this year's recruiting class. There was a need for immediate help and to bring guys in to develop. Nebraska seems to be addressing both and could continue to bring in immediate help with Kevin Dixon.
