Chestang to Be Part of History

Josh Chestang picked up a pair of SEC offers during his junior year. Things looked promising, but questions about Josh's ability to qualify prevented him from signing with a division school this February. Chestang has improved his academic standing to the point that he will pass the muster of the NCAA clearinghouse. As a result of his progress, Josh has accepted a scholarship to South Alabama.

Chestang's Options Keep Changing

At one point or another the five largest football schools in the state of Mississippi had designs on signing Josh Chestang. Early offers from Ole Miss and Mississippi State had Josh excited about the possibilities. Chestang will likely be signing with an in state school, but it will not be Ole Miss or State.
