Cody Larson was tenth on the team with 5.7 minutes per game last season, but his decision to leave the Florida basketball program still creates depth issues in the frontcourt. The Gators have three experienced bodies — Erik Murphy, Will Yeguete and Patric Young — to play in the paint. Larson would have been the fourth off the bench, but head coach Billy Donovan won't rule out Larson returning.

Florida forward/center Cody Larson has decided to leave the Florida basketball team. Head coach Billy Donovan said at media day in mid-October that Larson would be playing without a scholarship this year because of off the court issues, but the redshirt sophomore has instead decided to leave the team.

The Florida Gators basketball team is in need of some quality help immediately for the 2010-2011 season and adding a versatile frontcourt player like Cody Larson is a huge step in getting a team ready that can do the things Billy Donovan and company want to do. At 6-9 and 225 pounds, Larson has the size to bang inside for the ball, he also has the quicks to play on the outside and press.
