RUNNING BACK Chris Daniels out of Serra, Calif., the same hotbed that produced Cougar DT Fevaea'i Ahmu, picked up the phone last week and told his old teammate he was going to join him at WSU. THE COUGS may have lost a football game this weekend but they look to be making recruiting strides. Two crimson targets are three-star running back/athlete Brandon Oliver, a scoring machine, and cat-quick Chris Daniels, a sought running back with a bevy of offers who also happens to be good friends with a current Cougar. Washington State leads or co-leads for both heading into the stretch drive.

THE APPLE CUP takes center stage on Saturday, but this weekend is also a seminal event in the recruiting process. A number of prep and junior college prospects with crimson hued scholarship offers will be on hand this weekend when Washington State and Washington clash out on the Palouse in the regular season finale for both teams and a bowl berth for Washington State likely holding in the balance.
