The #24 Texas Longhorns overcame a sluggish start and survived a late first half run against the Texas Tech Red Raiders on Wednesday before earning a hard fought victory at the free throw line 87-81. Damion James scored 20 points and pulled down 11 rebounds to lead the Longhorns on the night when Kevin Durant's #35 was retired in an emotional ceremony.

Abrams Carries Texas Past #2 Oklahoma

The Texas Longhorns took the floor Saturday night with their backs firmly against the wall. After losing four of the last six games and entering the showdown with the #2 Oklahoma Sooners sitting at 6-5 in Big 12 play, the Longhorns were in desperate need of a big win. What they got was a sensational performance from A.J. Abrams in the closing minutes resulting in a 73-68 win.

The Beat Goes On

The #11 Texas Longhorns rolled into Waco to face the Baylor Bears Tuesday winners of all 22 games played in the Rick Barnes era. By a little after 10pm, it was 23 straight as the Longhorns continued their complete domination of Baylor winning 78-72 behind the play off the bench of Dogus Balbay and Varez Ward.
