GVN Salutes Idaho's Seniors

THIS GROUP OF FIFTEEN VANDAL SENIORS LED IDAHO TO THE SCHOOL'S BEST TWO YEAR STRETCH IN 10 YEARS, including eight wins and a Humanitarian Bowl victory in 2009. The 2010 season didn't go quite as planned, but these athletes were instrumental in helping guide Idaho through a frustrating series of coaching changes, and have delivered the most exciting stretch of football in a decade for Vandal fans.

2010 PREVIEW: Vandal 'backers standing tall

LED BY FOURTH YEAR STARTER, senior strongside linebacker JOSEPH "JOJO" DICKSON (6-2, 235), the Vandals return a loaded linebacking unit for the 2010 season. Unlike at anytime in the last five years, the Vandals go 2-deep across the board with extensive game-time experience, plus they return four of Idaho's top eight tacklers from a year ago, including the top tacklers at SAM, MIKE, and WILL.

Seven Vandals Earn All-WAC Honors

Senior Mike "Big Mike" Iupati (an Outland Trophy Finalist) and junior free safety SHILOH KEO were named First Team All-Western Athletic Conference selections this week. In addition, senior receiver Max Komar, senior center Irvin Stevens III, junior defensive end Aaron Lavarias, junior linebacker Joseph "JoJo" Dickson, and freshman kicker Trey Farquhar were named Second Team All-WAC selections.

Vandals Win Opener, Down NMSU 21-6

The Vandals jumped out to an impressive 21-0 lead going into halftime at New Mexico State on Saturday, looking poised and prepared (including MAX KOMAR rolling over an Aggie defender for a TD) in the season opener for both schools. In the second half the Idaho offense stalled, but the Vandal defense forced a couple Aggie turnovers in a bend-but-don't-break approach, yielding just one touchdown.
