Although he was wide eyed on the first day, freshman Brendan Kelly has let his play to the talking since arriving on campus this summer. Studying film of his teammates and himself, Kelly's progress has given him a chance to contribute to the Badger defensive line on Saturday.

One thing about watching film, especially highlight tapes, is that everyone looks like a world-beater. The key is to evaluate the total package of a prospect and what that prospects strengths and weaknesses are. I can't help but think that Minnesota's Brendan Kelly is the perfect fit for the Badgers system.

Brendan Kelly, a 6-foot-6, 234-pound, defensive end, from the Academy of Holy Angels, in Richfield, Minn., finished his season with over 100 tackles and racked up 19 sacks. Those numbers were good enough to earn Kelly all-state and all-metro honors. Here are the first of what will be several highlights from Brendan's senior season.
