The Falcons faced four bowl teams after starting with a game against FCS opponent Northwestern State. Included in those four games were matchups against BYU and Navy, teams Air Force hadn't beaten since 2002.

Jordan Waiwaiole, a 6-foot-4 defensive end from Spring Lake Park (MN) High, has attracted the attention of several Division I schools, including Minnesota. Waiwaiole was the North Suburban Conference Most Valuable Defensive Player after finishing with 12 sacks and 78 tackles as a junior.
