The ASU offense has morphed itself into a high-tempo, quick scoring machine over the past couple of seasons. It's a unit loaded with gifted skill players, perhaps none more-so than at wide receiver where each week it seems a new player steps up to make a significant contribution. One of those talented players is AJ Pickens.

For his first two years at Arizona State, A.J. Pickens was somewhat of an unknown. He redshirted as a true freshman in 2008 and failed to record a reception in the three games he played in the 2009 season. Now with a couple years of experience under his belt, Pickens has caught passes in consecutive games and is starting to garner attention from Sun Devil coaches and fans alike.

First it was Rudy Burgess. Then along came Kyle Williams. A.J. Pickens, a 5-10, 172-pound ‘do-it-all' type of athlete, is currently preparing for the official start to his Sun Devil career which will ensue in a few short weeks and he hopes to be the next among ASU's recent legacy of smaller, all-purpose wide receivers to make a sizeable impact.

A.J. Pickens has been listing Arizona State as his favorite for several weeks now. Yet, he wanted to take his time in making his decision. The wide receiver was hoping to do so before Christmas, but ultimately rang in the New Year with a verbal commitment to ASU.

Don Lugo CB/WR A.J. Pickens is heading down the home stretch of recruiting and his second to last visit was this weekend when he headed to Seattle to take in 48-hours at the University of Washington. He came away impressed with what he saw while he was in the Emerald City, but said that he still wants to take his last visit before he makes a decision.
