Adeniji, Kristick, Peat find NFL homes

THREE BEAVERS SIGNED undrafted free agent contracts and will get a shot at the NFL -- WR Damola Adeniji, LB Keaton Kristick and OL Gregg Peat, and two moves came with surprises. With Kristick, many thought an NFL team might get themselves a steal with a 6-7th round draft pick. As for Adeniji, no one was talking about the NFL a year ago -- after all, he was a walk-on with one career catch.

Canfield marching in with the Saints

SEAN CANFIELD IS marching in. The Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints selected the Beaver QB with the 32nd pick in the 7th round on Saturday. The 6-4, 225-pounder was the 13th quarterback taken in the NFL Draft.

THE NFL DRAFT got underway Thursday and here's one for the books -- Idaho had more picks (1) in the first round than did USC (0). Oregon State and Oregon had no players selected, but that figures to change this weekend. The Unusual Suspects: Las Vegas Bowl

AMIDST ALL THE 50 mile per hour winds, turnovers and penalties, OSU broke their five game bowl winning streak, failed to reach nine wins for the first time since 2005, and will be hard pressed to gain respect from final poll voters after falling 44-20 to BYU. Despite the poor and seemingly uninspired performance, there were a few bright spots. Granted, you have to look hard, but they're there.
