Air Force dominated BYU in a 35-14 win, which was quite a statement the Falcons sent to the rest of the conference. The Falcons started slowly but scored the final 28 points of the game. BYU didn't score after the first quarter.

The Falcons were shaky in the first half against Northwestern State, a FCS team that went 0-11 last year. The Demons had 215 passing yards before halftime, and trailed just 24-21. Northwestern State receivers ran open most of the first half, and the Falcons seemed very tentative on defense.
