Kaufusi charges dismissed; Dotson practices

CHARGES HAVE BEEN dismissed against Sekope Kaufusi for marijuana possession, and his attorney says there were questions on the legality of the search. But it remains to be seen if the former starting linebacker will be reinstated to the Washington State football team.

Gone: Mizell runs out of chances

INSIDE LINEBACKER C.J. MIZELL, who started 15 games over his two years in Pullman, has been dismissed from the Washington State football team following a weekend arrest, a source close to the matter tells Cougfan.com and which WSU later officially confirmed. The latest incident was the final straw in a pattern that had seen Mizell run into trouble with two coaching staffs at Washington State.

NOTEBOOK: Reflections on a downer

THE TURNING POINT came with the score tied 14-14 in the second quarter as OSU faced a second-and-17 at its own 31-yard line. But quarterback Sean Mannion found wide receiver Markus Wheaton for a 21-yard completion and added another 15 yards on a personal foul penalty against sophomore safety Casey Locker. Six plays later, Malcolm Agnew scored on a 3-yard run and the Beavers never trailed again.
