This will be the seventh exhibition game between the Spartans and Tides in the last eight years. The previous six contests have drawn an average of 7,381 fans per game. This is a great fundraiser for the Norfolk State baseball program, since all proceeds from ticket sales go directly to the NSU baseball program.
The game will be a seven-inning game and will start at 5:30 pm on April 4, with gates opening at 4:30 pm. Advance tickets will go on sale at the NSU ticket center on campus February 27. Tickets may also be purchased at NSU home baseball games starting February 23 vs North Carolina A&T. Fans can also purchase tickets on game day at the Harbor Park ticket office. All seating will be general admission, with prices of $7 for adults and $5 for groups of 20 or more.
The CEO of Norfolk Southern Railway, Jim Squires, will throw out the ceremonial first pitch.
It is great to see the Tides come together with Norfolk State to put on this game, in what is a great financial benefit for the Spartans baseball program.
