Johnson joins the Pack

Miami is a school that Quentez Johnson committed to first and he made the decision prematurely. After taken a step back, re-evaluating schools, and taking some visits, he has decided North Carolina State is the right school for him…

Quentez Johnson spent over 48 hours in Raleigh, N.C. less than a month ago and that is going to be his home after he finishes up high school in Ellenwood, Ga.

Johnson left North Carolina State with a great feeling after being around the coaches and working under them at the camp. A few weeks later he places his name on their commitment list.

"I am going to North Carolina State," said Quentez Johnson. "I told my mom about [my decision] Thursday and she is happy about it. It feels good to be committed to North Carolina State."

The 6-foot-3, 330 pound defensive lineman chose the Wolfpack over Oregon and Tennessee. The way he and his future position coach gelled at the camp proved to mean a lot to him.

"My relationship with Coach Neilsen was important. We have been talking a lot and I like him a lot. When I visited, the whole coaching staff showed me love and I felt at home with the players too."

This is likely Johnson's final decision and he feels good about it. The three-star ready to go to work and help North Carolina State's class be as strong as it can be.

"I want to come in and recruit players that want to be a part of what we are building. I want to be a leader in this class. I am trying to see who wants to come, then I want to win recruiter of the year."
