"It's a great feeling to be acknowledged by so many colleges," Mays said. "It shows the hard work I'm putting in is paying off. I think that most colleges now are looking for size on the outside, so that's why they love my game so much being that my strengths are to go up and get the ball out of the air."
Mays is happy with his decision but does have a good relationship with the Texas coaching staff.
"I've had a good relationship with the Texas staff," Mays said. "I've been mostly in contact with the wide receiver's coach, coach Koenning. I liked the campus when I went up to visit during the June camp circuit. I would say Illinois is showing me the most interest right now. I've made my commitment to Illinois but behind them Texas (which I haven't gotten an offer from) and Fresno state (respectively) have showed interest as well."
