2019 FANTASY OUTLOOK AND PROJECTION: LOOKING GOOD
Jose Altuve is projected to be the best fantasy second baseman in the upcoming season. In 2018, he was owned in 99 percent of leagues and it will be at least this high next season as well. He is projected to average 3.32 fantasy points per game in 157 games. His projected rank for the upcoming season is up slightly from where he finished last season.
SEASON FANTASY RECAP AND TREND
Jose Altuve had a good fantasy season and was a 'second tier' fantasy star. He was the number #6 ranked 2B and the #58 ranked player overall. He would be in the elite class of 2Bs if he had played more games. Based on average fantasy points he was the #4 2B. He showed improvement from his start of the season to the middle of his season, but then his production dropped off. In his middle 46 games he averaged 3.7 fantasy points which was higher than his start (2.7 FP) and his ending average (2.6 FP). Based on a relatively low standard deviation, Altuve can be considered a consistent fantasy player. He averaged 3 FPs, but on any given day his projected ceiling is as high as 14 fantasy points.
