MLB Fantasy Rankings: Early Projections for 2020

There are 20 second basemen who are projected to be in the top 30 (short term) and who could be available on the waiver wire as they are owned in less than 65% of leagues. This list includes Shedric Long and Starlin Castro, but the highest ranked waiver wire second baseman is Tommy La Stella.

There are only 3 second basemen whose projected rank is significantly better than their season-to-date rank. Keston Hiura, at #6, is the highest ranking second baseman of this 'must start' group. There are only 3 second basemen who are projected to be fantasy busts. Jonathan Villar, for example, is projected to be just the #17 second baseman. He is still probably a fantasy starter for most owners.
