SCOUT ANALYST JOHN BOLLMAN'S TAKE
Marcus Stroman left yesterday’s start early with a tight left hamstring. The extent of the injury is not known, but it is not expected to be serious. He will get an MRI today and we will know more about the injury in the next few days. His replacement in the rotation, Walker Lockett, would not be worth a look in fantasy.
REST OF SEASON OUTLOOK AND POSITION RANK
Expect Marcus Stroman to be a reliable fantasy starter the rest of the season. His 6.65 projected fantasy points puts him at #55 behind Rich Hill and ahead of Joey Lucchesi. He has averaged -1.8 fantasy points in his past 46 games, which is less than our projected per game average. He is projected to average 1.33 fantasy points. His rank based on avg proj (#69) is worse than his rank based on total fantasy points. He is overrated if you compare his ownership based rank with his projection rank. At 91%, he is the #45 most highly owned starting pitcher. Marcus Stroman is expected to improve on this season-to-date's #103 fantasy position rank.
SIT MARCUS STROMAN IN WEEK 24... PROJECTED FOR FEWER FPS THAN GLENN SPARKMAN
Marcus Stroman is projected for 0.27 fantasy points in 2 games which projects to being the #88 ranked starting pitcher. This may be a week you want to sit Marcus Stroman. This is projected to be a below average week with fewer fantasy points per game than he is projected to average per game the rest of the season. He is ranked above Genesis Cabrera but behind Glenn Sparkman. Week 25 will be better based on projected rank (#63). He is projected for 1.37 fantasy points.
