By simulating the 2019 season (all year round) we can project who the best fantasy defenses are and in our latest projection the Bears are number one, followed by the Vikings and the Saints. The Patriots and Chiefs are not in the very upper tier, but they are solid options as well. Our top rated linebackers are Darius Leonard and Leighton Vander Esch. If you use high draft picks at these positions and are looking for quality starting defensive linemen then consider Frank Clark or Trey Flowers. Below are our top rated fantasy football team defenses and individual defensive players based on the projected total fantasy points. We also have their projected fantasy points per game. In cases where a player is a free agent we have their team from the 2018 season.

Deion Jones is projected to average 8.8 fantasy points per game and his projected total of 141 points is good enough to be ranked #4 at his position. His projected rank this season is obviously much improved vs last season where he only appeared in 8 games. Jaylon Smith is not projected to be as good in 2019 (#24) as he was in 2018 where he finished as the #7 linebacker. With 108 total projected fantasy points he is still capable of helping teams in certain matchups.
